Summary
Edward IV, eldest son of the Duke of York, wins the English throne for the Yorkist cause through military prowess and force of personality. However, his secret and politically disastrous marriage to the widow Elizabeth Woodville alienates his most powerful ally Warwick, triggers a civil war within his own faction, and sets in motion the chain of events his brother Richard will exploit to seize power.
